At Voluntad Popular, we denounce with deep concern that our brothers in the struggle, Roland Carreño and Freddy Superlano, political prisoners of the Venezuelan narco-state, have been moved to an unknown location.

It became known unofficially that both were taken out of the Helicoide more than 24 hours ago, dressed in blue and yellow coveralls, and transported in SEBIN vehicles. Since then, their destination is unknown. At one point there was speculation that they might have been brought before the courts, but there is no official information about their current location.

We warn that this pattern of enforced disappearances is a criminal method of Nicolás Maduro’s regime to increase political persecution and psychological torture against our leaders and their families.

We immediately demand that the regime provide proof of life for Roland Carreño and Freddy Superlano; their immediate release, since they never should have been imprisoned; and an end to the policy of hatred and persecution against those of us who fight for a free Venezuela.

We make an urgent call to the international community, multilateral bodies and human rights defenders to speak out firmly against this serious violation, which endangers the lives and integrity of our brothers.

Enough persecution!
